The problem we’re tackling |
We all know that pressure cooker environment. It’s the last few days of a tender, your inbox is on fire, and you’re trying to make sense of a dozen different quotes, or hopefully a dozen different quotes, for the same package.
Every single one is in a different format, a choose your own adventure kind of style of inclusions, exclusions, discrepancies, clarifications, all sorts of different risks.
We’re all trying to be incredibly thorough, but the clock is ticking and you have to find the best value. You also can’t afford to miss a critical scope gap. This is where so much of that risk lies, in trying to do this at the final hour.
Where AI comes in |
This is where we saw a real tangible opportunity for AI to help, not hinder.
Our goal is to augment estimators, not to automate their process. This isn’t about AI doing your job or making the final call.
Think of it more like having a good quality junior or cadet estimator who can do that first tedious pass for you and just make sense of all the information that’s in there.
How it worksWhat we’ve been building, working hand in hand with a number of estimators over the past few months, is a tool that helps with that initial heavy lifting. First, it takes all those different quote documents and pulls the information into one clean side by side view. Just getting out of the swamp of PDFs and into a structured format is a huge first step. From there, it helps you spot the differences much faster. It flags where you need to focus your attention, the potential risks, the items that need clarification. It’s about getting you out of the weeds of manual data entry, so you can spend your brainpower on the stuff that actually matters — the analysis and the strategy. And lastly, it can help you act on those findings by drafting a list of questions for each subcontractor. That way, you can quickly go back and get the clarifications you need to make your comparisons truly apples for apples, and actually make the most of the quote coverage that you’ve got. |
The value for EstimatorsThe idea is simple. We want to help you do your job faster, smarter, and with more confidence. It’s about clearing away the noise, so you, the estimator, can focus on making the best possible decision for your business. |
Looking aheadWe’re at the very beginning of this journey, but we’re convinced that this is the right way to approach it. By focusing on a real problem and building a solution that empowers the expert in the driver’s seat — which of course is you, the estimator. We have a ton of exciting ways we’ll be improving this over the coming months, and we can’t wait to help you spend less time on the menial and more time on the meaning. |
